Charles Darwin House– World-famous 19th Century scientist Charles Darwin is the main subject of this museum. He developed his incredibly influential theory of evolution by natural selection and wrote his seminal text On The Origins of Species at this house.
Down House’s highlights include interactive media tours, narrated by the famous broadcasters, David Attenborough and Andrew Marr; a replica of Darwin’s cabin from HMS Beagle; a virtual tour of the great man’s study; and the famous ‘Thinking Path’.
