Canary Wharf- London’s financial centre and spectacular visual icon of modern London. The busiest business and shopping place

Canary Wharf is one of the world’s main financial centres and for visitors it has a spectacular visual icon of modern London. It has become a symbol of the city’s global prominence as an economic superpower.

It is located in the West India Docks on the Isle of Dogs in the Borough of Tower Hamlets in East London. The West India Docks once formed part of the busiest port in the world. It is considered now one of the greatest ever feats of civic engineering turning a once Docklands into 97 acres of London’s, and the world’s, most sought after office and retail space.

It houses Britain’s three tallest buildings, including the One Canada Square, the Citigroup Centre and Eight Canada Square.
